Swartz Campbell Elects Pamela Maginnis to Partnership

Swartz Campbell is pleased to announce that Pamela A. Maginnis has been elected to partnership in the firm.

Ms. Maginnis is in the Toxic Tort Litigation Department in the firm’s Philadelphia office. She is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Ms. Maginnis has expertise in products liability, premises liability, and toxic torts. She is also experienced in general liability matters, including defending clients against personal injury, commercial transportation, and construction defect cases. Ms. Maginnis has had success in securing dismissals of claims against clients at the pleadings, discovery, and trial phases of litigation.

Recently, Ms. Maginnis conducted the fact witness cross-examination and drafted the motion briefs resulting in the dismissal of all claims and cross-claims against a product manufacturer in a mesothelioma case filed in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. She conducted the fact witness cross-examination and drafted the motion briefs resulting in the dismissal of all claims and cross-claims against an employer in an asbestos-related lung cancer case filed in Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. She conducted the cross-examinations of multiple fact witnesses resulting in the dismissal of all claims and cross-claims against two separate product manufacturers in an asbestos-related lung cancer case filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She drafted the motion briefs resulting in partial summary judgment being granted to an employer in a mesothelioma case filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Ms. Maginnis obtained a defense verdict in a jury trial, participating as second chair on behalf of an employer in an asbestos-related colon cancer case in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.

Ms. Maginnis received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2016. While in law school, she was a member of the Women’s Legal Alliance, in which she served as a mentor for incoming members. Ms. Maginnis received her B.A. in History from Fordham University in 2012. Ms. Maginnis was part of the first female membership class admitted to the Society of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick’s flagship chapter in Philadelphia. The Society of the Friendly Sons has been an active philanthropic organization since 1771, focusing on scholarships and benevolence in the Philadelphia area. A member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, she is a volunteer attorney with the Montgomery Child Advocacy Project. Ms. Maginnis resides in Philadelphia but is a proud Delco native.
