MyComputerCareer (MyCC), a technical college that provides hands-on Information Technology training, certifications and job placement assistance, was recently named an outstanding leader by CompTIA, the nonprofit association for the IT industry and workforce, during the group’s 2021 Partner Summit. According to the association, MyComputerCareer earned this CompTIA award for the volume of students it trains, certifies, and places into the IT industry.
MyComputerCareer has equipped thousands of graduates with the skills and resources for success during its 13-year history. Many MyCC grads are working in top tech companies across the country. In fact, MyCC’s Career Services department worked with students and graduates to help them accept nearly 2500 job offers so far this year. During this time, students also earned more than 6000 IT certifications across several programs.
“We are truly dedicated to changing people’s lives by providing a pathway to successful careers in IT, and it’s always a great feeling when a leader in our industry like CompTIA recognizes our collective efforts to do just that,” said Tony Galati, founder and CEO of MyComputerCareer. “This award reflects the daily hustle of our students, faculty, and support staff.”
Graduate Lanny Langston, who earned eight IT certifications during his time with the school, emphasized MyCC’s commitment to rewarding careers in the industry pays off.
“After going to MyComputer Career I now have a very clear path of my career in IT,” Langston said. “Unlike your traditional college experience, you’re most likely going to have job offers right out of the door (upon graduation).”
The 2021 CompTIA Partner Summit featured discussions and education on issues and trends that are shaping the IT workforce of today and tomorrow, including how to transform the tech talent pipeline with new candidates; the changing IT infrastructure and what it means for tech skills; and why cybersecurity skills are more important than ever.
“Our partners remained resolute and strong through more than a year of challenges and disruptions,” said John McGlinchey, CompTIA’s executive vice president for global certification. “Their creativity and adaptability allowed them to provide high-quality education and training to millions of learners pursuing opportunities to work in IT. CompTIA is grateful for their efforts and proud to call them partners.”
