Sweetgreen, King of Pops, LUSH and Sunnies Open at Colony Square this Fall

Retail and restaurant concepts further elevate the experience at the reimagined mixed-use destination

North American Properties (NAP) announced today the fall openings of four retailers and restaurants at Colony Square, the iconic mixed-use destination in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. Recently opened or opening soon concepts include fast casual, health eatery Sweetgreen; innovative popsicle concept King of Pops; high-end designer and lifestyle sunglass retailer Sunnies; and luxurious nail salon Lush Nail Bar. Colony Square is on track to celebrate the completion of its $400 million redevelopment this holiday season.

Earlier this month, Los Angeles-based Sweetgreen opened its second Atlanta location at Colony Square. Known for a variety of flavorful, healthy meals from warm bowls and salads to protein and vegetable plates, Sweetgreen prides itself on building healthier communities by connecting people to real food. The fast casual chain fits perfectly into the hustle and bustle of 14th and Peachtree Streets – offering a quick, healthy meal on the go to accommodate the fast-paced lifestyle in Midtown.

At the end of August, popsicle stand turned innovative business King of Pops debuted its brick and mortar storefront along the Plaza, the 10,000-square-foot activated greenspace at the heart of Colony Square. The location prioritizes an open-air, seamless guest experience, featuring a walk-up window and NanaWall for customers to easily grab some pops and experience the weekly events happening on the Square. Guests can delight in a variety of flavors and offerings, including fruity or creamy pops, soft serve, booze-infused poptails and slushtails and even frozen treats for furry friends.

“We were originally drawn to Midtown because it wasn’t a crowd we’d formed a true connection with yet, and Colony Square sits at the heart of that,” said Steven Carse, co-founder of King of Pops. “Since opening, we’ve seen the incredible community that’s built here – the energy, the events, the connectivity. We’ve loved the support from the Colony Square team and we can’t wait to continue building this relationship and introduce exciting signature items for our new Midtown friends.”

Additionally, Colony Square will welcome two retail concepts to the lineup later this fall. Sunnies, a family-owned brand offering high-end designer and lifestyle sunglasses, will open a 450-square-foot flagship location to the left of King of Pops in October. Lush Nail Bar, an upscale nail salon offering manicures, pedicures, microblading and more, will also open later in the season.

The retail and restaurant openings come on the heels of other exciting activity at the Square. Earlier this summer, Colony Square celebrated the openings of upscale food hall Politan Row, contemporary Italian eatery Serena Pastificio and the completion of Building 500, the 115,000-square-foot office building fully occupied by global law firm Jones Day, who welcomed 250 employees to the space. Additionally, Whole Foods Market Inc. recently moved its South regional office into Building 300, anchoring the six-floor office tower and occupying 30,000 square feet of space overlooking The Plaza.

“There was so much energy and excitement at Colony Square throughout the summer with office tenants returning, the opening of the food hall and the signature events series in full swing,” said Adam Schwegman, partner and senior vice president of leasing at NAP. “And that’s only the beginning. We’ve got a lot in store for the Midtown community this fall and are excited to complete the transformation of this iconic destination.”
