Historic Downtown Houston Building Gets a Remodel

The recently acquired 1113 Vine Street historical asset, purchased by Stratiq Capital, a private equity company, and managed by CXRE, a leading full suite commercial real estate brokerage firm underwent extensive renovations in less than 100 days from purchase. The property boasts 99,000 square feet and is strategically positioned on 2.2 acres in downtown Houston with direct access to METRO and the University of Houston Downtown. The property was originally known as the Union Transfer and Storage Building, built in 1905-1917, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The punch list of renovations included new LED lighting, windows added in the common area, landscaping, a surround sound system, retro-designed furniture, and contemporary art throughout the facility. CXRE led the internal design team and created a signature style showcasing a modern art deco tone with rich colors accented by bold geometry.

Courtney Lee, Assistant Landlord Services Manager at CXRE, aided the team with the renovation of the property. Lee stated “Being involved in this renovation was an amazing experience, and as part of the property management team, I know firsthand that the tenants are really happy with this space. It’s filling up quickly!” Lee added, “We have three spaces currently available for lease, collectively 3,020 square feet.”
