Georgia-owned Pinnacle Bank Expanding into Augusta Area with Two New Branches

Pinnacle Bank, the locally-owned, independent bank based in Elberton, Georgia, is expanding into Augusta, with two new full-service banks in 2022.

On Feb. 25, the bank celebrates the ribbon cutting of its new branch at 375 Furys Ferry Road in Martinez, Pinnacle’s first full-service branch in the Augusta area. By the end of 2022, another location will open in Grove town.

“We started with a commercial loan office, then a mortgage office, and by the end of 2022, we’ll have two full-service branches,” said Dustin Young, SVP Market Manager for Pinnacle Bank. “We’re proud of our organic growth into the Augusta market and for the excitement we’ve gotten from our local customers, which encouraged us to grow here. It’s a great market for us as it isn’t far from our headquarters in Elberton – we want to be your community bank.”

Pinnacle Bank offers consumer and business banking, from Totally Free Checking and business and personal loans to financial planning and mortgage lending. Melinda Faulk, the branch manager of the Furys Ferry location, takes pride in helping our customers find the right solution.

When businesses and bank lobbies were closing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Pinnacle opened an emergency drive through drawer lane and, more importantly, served customers through Pinny, an ITM giving access to a live Pinnacle Bank teller through a touchscreen.

Customers can safely interact with the Pinny teller and conduct almost any business normally done through a teller line inside the bank. Pinny is available Monday-Friday,7 a.m. –7 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. –2 p.m.

“We invested in the Interactive Teller Machine technology in 2018 to better serve customers – little did we know that service would take on a whole new meaning when COVID-19 came on the scene,” added Young.

Chartered in 1934, Pinnacle Bank has 24 offices across 15 counties in Northeast Georgia.

“Our relationship with our customers and our community is very important: Customers are not a transaction. They are people we want to serve with financial products that make their life easier or more efficient,” said L. Jackson McConnell Jr., Pinnacle Bank’s Chairman and CEO. “If a customer is looking for someone to discuss financial planning with, how to grow a business or needs just general financial information, we’re here for all those things.”

Columbia County Commissioner Connie Melear, a member of Pinnacle Bank’s Board of Directors, lives in Evans, Georgia, and has been encouraging the bank to bring full-service branches to the Augusta market.

“Pinnacle Bank serves customers’ personal as well as business financial needs. I’ve seen how this bank develops relationships with its customers to really understand what each person needs – and do so with Southern hospitality and a smile. I’m so proud to see the opening of these branches, and I know we’ll see more from Pinnacle Bank in the months and years to come,” said Melear.
