BERKELEY Creates Campaign For Hull Public Library

The BERKELEY content creation studio has created a new campaign for the Hull Public Library. It all started when Hull Public Library Director Diane Costagliola reached out to see if Joe Berkeley would be interested in exhibiting his portrait work in the library.

Berkeley said, “Diane had a lot of passion for the library which inspired me to do something new. I love books and the Hull Public Library. I wanted to create a campaign that would be a love letter to great books and the folks who enjoy them.”

Thus, the campaign “The Hull Public Library, where great books meet local legends,” was born. The three commercials feature legendary Hull residents such as Captain Peter Mahoney of the Fishing Vessel Windemere who reads from Moby Dick, Sean O’Neill of O’Neill Tire and Auto who recites a passage from Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, and James Hardison the restoration artist from the Paragon Carousel who quotes Seabiscuit.

All three videos can be seen here: https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/648042481

The commercials and still images, which are being shared on social media are being made available to local TV stations. The goal is to raise awareness for the Hull Public Library and reading.  The campaign struck a chord with readers, who have requested that local legends such as Captain Peter offer public readings. Given that Captain Peter has a great many lobster pots to tend to, he has not yet arranged such an event, but is open minded in the future.
