Palmer Trinity School Student Recognized As Prudential Spirit Of Community Distinguished Finalist

Palmer Trinity School senior, Charlotte Crews, has been selected to receive an engraved bronze Distinguished Finalist medallion in the 2021 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards for outstanding volunteer work.

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program, created in 1995, is the United States’ largest youth recognition program based exclusively on volunteer community service. This program honors middle school and high school students at local, state, and national levels for their outstanding community service work.

Charlotte is the president and founder of the non-profit One Change Bracelets. She and her best friends created the organization in 2018 to spread awareness and raise money for melanoma cancer research. They came up with an idea to use beads that change color when exposed to UV rays strung up as bracelets to help make the wearer more conscious about exposure to skin cancer. All proceeds made from the sale of these One Change Bracelets are donated towards melanoma research.

Charlotte was selected as one of the top runner-up students in Florida for 2021 by the program’s state-level judges. She will be mailed a bronze medallion for her inspiring commitment and continuous support towards her community.

“We are exceedingly proud of Charlotte’s generous spirit and dedication to serving the community in practical and creative ways,” Patrick Roberts, Head of School.
