The American Legion’s 76th Post in Jamaica Plainhosted a ceremony on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2022 with the Post 76 Honor Guard, the only active American Legion Honor Guard in Boston. There was a roll call of the American Legion members who passed awaysince last year, and the Rolling Thunder Massachusetts Chapter 1 was in attendance as well.US Army Veteran DJ JayJona provided the live entertainment, and complimentary food and beverages were provided too. Special guest speakers included Commissioner of Boston Veterans Services, Robert Santiago; Former District 6 City Councilor and current Clerk of the Criminal/Business Court of Suffolk County, Maura Hennigan; and former Boston Police Chief, Willie Gross. “Between the large turnout of members and Jamaica Plain residents and distinguished guest from various political and civic duty circles that attended, this was one of the biggest and best ceremonies we’ve had in recent years,” said Joe Rossi, Post 76 Commander. “We also got the word out early that we were, and still are, accepting new Veteran and associate membership applications, and those continue to pour in almost every day.”
