Greenspring, an Erickson Senior Living community in Springfield, Va., hosted a spectacular “There’s No Place Like Home” Wizard of Oz Gala on September 16. The festive event raised more than $456,000 for the community’s Benevolent Care Fund.
More than 185 guests enjoyed the celebration, which included a cocktail hour, music, dancing, an elegant dinner, formal portraits, caricatures, and entertainment by “Seth Sikes Sings Judy Garland.”
“The evening was filled with amazing people, food, fun, laughter, music, and dancing – all the ingredients for an enchanted evening for a great cause,” said Executive Director Melissa Robson.
Greenspring’s Benevolent Care Fund provides support to residents who, despite careful planning, outlive their financial resources. The money donated to the fund allows for residents experiencing financial adversity to continue living at Greenspring, in their home, among their friends, receiving the care that they need.
“Thanks to generous donations from our residents, staff, and sponsors, we are pleased to be able to make Greenspring a home for life for all of our residents,” said Director of Philanthropy Kimberly Nelson.
