Volunteers From Wells Fargo Help “beautify” NeighborWorks Housing Solutions Property

NeighborWorks® Housing Solutions (NHS; www.nhsmass.org), the leading housing service provider in southern Massachusetts, recently welcomed volunteers from Wells Fargo, who spent a day volunteering and “beautifying” the newly renovated Copley Gardens in Rockland in advance of its ribbon-cutting.

The 20 Wells Fargo volunteers worked alongside staff from NHS, cheerfully pitching in to enhance the exterior of the 83-unit multifamily apartment complex, which recently underwent a major renovation by NeighborWorks Housing Solutions.  The team worked on building garden boxes, planting greenery and flowers, and cleaning up the areas around the newly built playground.  The group also spent time clearing out brush and debris, which added the finishing touches on the property.

“Wells Fargo has enjoyed a long-time relationship with NeighborWorks Housing Solutions,” said Terence Floyd, Vice President of Social Impact for Wells Fargo New England.  “When they reached out to us for volunteer help on this property, we were very excited.  We have embarked on a Welcome Home initiative because Wells Fargo believes everyone deserves a place to call home.  This project fit right in, and we were more than happy to help.”

During Wells Fargo’s Welcome Home campaign, volunteers from across its global footprint will participate in more than 100 projects that create more affordable and sustainable homes and communities.

The newly completed Copley Gardens renovations features new exterior siding, new windows, upgraded common areas, masonry repointing, major plumbing repairs, and electrical upgrades. Five units were modified to meet accessibility requirements and the fire alarm protection system was replaced and upgraded. Copley Gardens is centrally located in Rockland, close to town amenities and transportation routes in a high-profile mixed-use area.

“Wells Fargo is known for its commitment to the communities it serves and the volunteers who helped spruce up the Copley Gardens property represent that commitment,” said Robert Corley, CEO of NeighborWorks Housing Solutions. “We’re grateful for their assistance, involvement, and impact on a property that will help fill a critical housing need in Rockland.”
