ArtServe Taps Prominent Branding Executive Steve Stock as Business Development Director

ArtServe, Broward County’s award-winning arts incubator, has hired veteran non-profit manager and branding executive Steve Stock as its director of business development. Stock resigned from his position on ArtServe’s board of directors to take the new role.

“We’re incredibly fortunate to have had the benefit of Steve’s experience on the board. Now, through his new full-time role with ArtServe, combined with his business experience here in South Florida, we hope to better connect with the business community, expand our successful art in public places projects and create more awareness for our brand,” ArtServe Executive Director Jason Hughes said.

Previously, Stock managed marine wildlife artist and conservationist Dr. Guy Harvey’s business and non-profit company for more than 15 years.  There, he was responsible for retail relationships, merchandising, licensing activities and special events for the brand as he had successfully done in the past for the Miami Dolphins, Florida Marlins, Tampa Bay Rays, Miami International Airport, World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta and Macy’s corporate in Miami.

“Just like our artists, I like to think outside the box,” Stock explained, describing his plans to help ArtServe bolster its fundraising and development efforts, grant opportunities and art sales. “In conveying ArtServe’s message to a wider audience, we hope to be able raise additional funds in order to help more young artists become successful businesspeople in the creative industries!”

He was awarded the “Excalibur Award” in 2015 by the Sun Sentinel as Broward County’s “Business Leader of the Year” for growing the Guy Harvey business and for his commitment to give back to the South Florida community.

A graduate of University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business Administration, Stock holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Stock is a long-time resident of Fort Lauderdale.

ArtServe inspires, supports and advances its diverse members, artists and community by promoting artistic development, education and prosperity through the exploration and presentation of the visual and performing arts.
