Georgia’s Sole Baby Supply Bank Seeks Dollars & Diapers For Families in Need

ESPN anchor and Helping Mamas ambassador Elle Duncan hosts a Holiday Diaper Drive to raise dollars and diapers for Georgia’s sole baby supply bank, Thursday, December 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Omni Atlanta Hotel. With one in three families experiencing diaper insecurity, Helping Mamas aims to provide important supplies to close the gap on diaper need.

WHEN       Thursday, December 15 from 4 to 6 p.m.

WHY   Diaper need increases significantly during the holidays. No family should have to choose between paying a bill or keeping their babies safe and dry.

WHAT        Revelers are welcome to donate diapers and dollars and register for the chance to win two Club Level tickets to the Celebration Bowl and a weekend stay at the hotel in 2023. There will be gingerbread house, holiday décor and cookies and hot chocolate. Plus, guests can get a sneak peek of the Celebration Bowl festivities.

WHO

Helping Mamas, the sole baby supply bank in the state, was founded in 2014 by Jamie Lackey. After years of working as a social worker and in the nonprofit sector, Lackey saw a gap between the hard work she did as a social worker and the need from those she served for basic baby supplies. With one in three women in Georgia unable to afford diapers, she launched Helping Mamas to bring relief. To date, Helping Mamas has served over 200,000 children in need and has distributed over three million essential baby supplies to families living in poverty. Helping Mamas currently works with over 150 partner agencies across the state to supply mothers in need of essential items.
