Central Business District Association Announces 2023-24 Officers

The CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT ASSOCIATION’S Board of Directors unanimously elected the following individuals to serve as officers for 2023-24.

STEVE MCNULTY, PRESIDENT: Steve serves as the Executive Vice President of Towne Bank, 2008-present.   Steve has extensive service in marketing and operations, business development, operating company sales and consistently leads organizations such as CBDA to year-over-year revenue growth.    A Hampton Roads native and graduate of Princess Anne High School and the University of Virginia, he has served on the CBDA Executive Board and CBDA’s Treasurer for 6 years.

DAN HEATWOLE, VICE PRESIDENT: Dan is the Senior Vice President and a Partner in Ripley Heatwole Company, Inc., where he is responsible for overseeing the company’s development and growth operations.  Additionally, Dan serves as the Chair of the Strategic Growth Committee and Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee. Daniel is an original member of the CBDX, the young professional’s branch of the CBDA and is a graduate of  Virginia Tech.

DAVE FRANCE, SECRETARY:  Dave is the Vice President at Kimley-Horn and Associates specializing in land development, municipal and state infrastructure design with a focus on commercial and industrial development.  Dave is a graduate of Virginia Tech.  Dave most recently served as  CBDA’s  Chair for the Design Review Committee having oversight of exterior design, signage for businesses within the Pembroke SGA.

ALI GUNBEYI, TREASURER:  Ali, the Vice President and COO at Jones CPA Group, specializes in management advisory, taxation as well as forensic accounting services and fraud risk management.  Ali has a BA from Istanbul University and an MBA from the Strome College of Business.  Ali was an original founder of CBDX, the young professionals branch of CBDA.

BERT POOLE, IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT: BERT POOLE, IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT: Bert is a Shareholder, Director, and Secretary at Poole Brooke Plumlee PC .   He also chairs the Business Practice Group for the firm and handles commercial transactions.  Bert is a graduate of Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business and the University of Virginia Law School.  Bert steps down as CBDA’s President since  2021-2022.
