IngredientWerks Raises Seed Funding

IngredientWerks, a Woburn, MA-based agtech ingredient company, raised an undisclosed amount in Seed funding.

The round was led by Open Prairie and ARCH Venture Partners.

The company intends to use the funds to advance its pipeline of plant-based, bioidentical animal proteins for alternative protein food market.

Led by CEO Matt Plavan, IngredientWerks specializes in Molecular Farming using genetic engineering and advanced plant breeding. Recently spun out of Agrivida, Inc., (a subsidiary of Novus International), the company leverages over 15 years of plant transformation, recombinant protein cultivation, processing and deregulation expertise to develop customized protein ingredients to the alternative protein market.
