DALLAS— O’Melveny announced today that acclaimed labor and employment litigator Kimberly Williams has joined the firm’s Dallas office as a partner in its Labor & Employment Practice Group.
Drawing on nearly two decades of legal experience, Williams will represent clients in a variety of complex labor and employment matters, including discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wage and hour litigation and investigations. She will also advise on non-competition, non-solicitation, and trade secret litigation. Additionally, Williams will advise on various employment issues that arise in corporate transactional matters.
Williams is a trusted advisor and advocate to employers across an array of industries, including the higher education, aviation, energy, financial services, and life sciences sectors. She has represented employers before state and federal courts throughout the country, as well as before various administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the US Department of Labor, and the Texas Workforce Commission. Her extensive experience representing colleges and universities in litigation, compliance, and investigations will also add expertise to the firm’s leading Colleges & Universities Practice.
Williams comes to O’Melveny from the Dallas office of Locke Lord, where she served as a member of the firm’s Board of Directors. Recognized among the “Best Lawyers in Dallas” by D Magazine, she will further expand O’Melveny’s rapid growth in Texas. Since June 2021, O’Melveny has added more than 60 lawyers—including 24 partners—to its Austin, Dallas, and Houston offices.
“Our clients will be well served by Kim’s impressive talent and deep experience in the labor and employment arena,” said O’Melveny Chair Bradley J. Butwin. “She is a perfect fit for our award-winning Labor & Employment Practice, and she is a valuable addition to our growing roster of all-star Texas lawyers. I am delighted to welcome her to the firm.”
“O’Melveny’s Labor & Employment team has a well-earned reputation for successfully handling some of the country’s most high-profile, headline-making matters, and I’m impressed by the firm’s clear commitment to expanding in Texas,” added Williams. “I’m thrilled to join such a talented group of lawyers, and I’m confident O’Melveny will be a great fit for my clients and my practice.”
Williams’s arrival in Dallas expands the reach of O’Melveny’s nationally recognized Labor & Employment Practice, which also recently added Natasha Waglow Teleanu, a former Assistant US Attorney in the Civil Division of the Southern District of New York, as a partner in the firm’s New York office.
Williams earned her J.D. with honors from Baylor University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.
