Lee + White’s Food Hall Welcomes Five New Eateries

Lease signings at Ackerman & Co. and MDH Partners’ adaptive reuse development expand the roster
with the food hall slated to open in June.

Five more eateries have joined the food hall at Lee + White as owners Ackerman & Co. and MDH Partners announce the newest wave of lease signings at the adaptive reuse mixed-use development in Atlanta’s West End neighborhood. Dough Boy Pizza, Good Azz Burgers, Vietvana, World Chicken and Sakura Sake Bar & Bottles expand the food hall’s roster to 14 eateries.

“With these new lease signings, we’re further expanding the diverse array of culinary options that will serve as both an amenity for our tenants and a draw for visitors to Lee + White. Patrons will be able to enjoy everything from a slice of pizza, street tacos or a bowl of pho to sweet treats like mochi donuts and gelato while also visiting the breweries, climbing gym and unique retailers,” said Leo Wiener, President of Ackerman Retail.

“On the heels of the JTEC lease signing announcement, Lee + White reaches another milestone with several new additions,” said Jeff Small, CEO of MDH Partners. “An intentional mix of local and international concepts, Lee + White’s food hall symbolizes the best of Atlanta – a diverse melting pot of cultures – coming together in one location. Whether it’s your workplace or hang-out place, Lee + White serves every purpose with something for everyone.”

The leases expand the eclectic mix of eateries at the food hall, adding a mix of established and newly launched concepts.

  • Dough Boy Pizza, specializing in Neopolitan-style pizza, will open its second franchise location, joining the original location in Birmingham, Ala., and a franchise spot in Decatur, Ga. The thin-crust pizzas will feature both traditional toppings (such as pepperoni and sausage), and non-traditional, gourmet toppings (including short rib with caramelized onions and crawfish).
  • Vietvana, a Vietnamese eatery, features a menu highlighted by build-your-own pho bowls and specialty pho noodle dishes, and banh mi sandwiches ranging from chicken and roasted pork to filet mignon and tofu. The eatery also operates locations in Ponce City Market, Avondale Estates and Midtown Atlanta.
  • Good Azz Burgers, which started as a food truck, will be opening its first brick-and-mortar location, serving classic burgers, specialty burgers and plant-based varieties.
  • World Chicken, launching its first location, will offer a variety of chicken items inspired by cuisines from around the world.
  • Sakura Sake Bar & Bottles, opening its second metro Atlanta location, will feature a tasting bar and gift shop offering an assortment of Japanese sakes, spirits and gift items.

Ackerman Retail’s Kelly Wilson, who leads retail leasing efforts on behalf of Lee + White ownership, completed the lease signings. The food hall is slated to open in June.

Acquired by MDH Partners and Ackerman & Co. in September 2019, the 442,562-square-foot adaptive reuse Lee + White development is a transformation of the West End’s Warehouse Row. In addition to the 19-vendor food hall, the owners are adding more than 200,000 square feet of creative offices, new retail and the “Great Lawn” central gathering and event space.

Lee + White is also becoming a destination for high-tech innovators. Carbice, a nanotechnology company, moved into a 23,367-square-foot headquarters with state-of-the-art production space in Building 1050 last year, and renewable energy producer JTEC will create a 18,755-square-foot lab and collaborative office space in the same building.

At the food hall, Ackerman Retail’s Kelly Wilson’s recent leases also include Costa Coffee, Cielito Lindo taqueria, Crème de la Crepe and Sweet Red Peach bakery.

A container village has also been integrated into the project, featuring five retailers ranging from an electric bike shop to retailers offering eco-friendly products, specialty goods and gift items that sell their products from brightly painted, repurposed shipping containers.

Providing BeltLine access via four direct entrances, Lee + White is located just 0.4 miles from the West End MARTA station and is convenient to all of metro Atlanta’s major interstates, I-20, I-75, I-85 and I-285.
