Bradley S. Chambers, senior vice president and chief operating officer of MedStar Health, Baltimore region, has been elected by The Center Club Board of Governors to serve as president beginning June 2023.
“I am truly honored and proud to lead the Board of this organization that means so much to me,” Chambers said. “The Center Club represents the best of the Baltimore business and civic community.”
The Club, Baltimore’s only Platinum City Club and a top 100 City Club of the World, celebrated its 60-year anniversary in 2022. It was founded in the early 1960s in downtown Baltimore as a business club open to members regardless of religion or race.
Chambers has been a member of the Club since 2008 and has played an active role on the Board of Governors for years. He served as president-elect for the 2022-23 term.
Now as president, Chambers has three main goals: to support ongoing Club initiatives to grow and diversify membership in terms of gender, age, ethnicity and profession; to maintain the strong brand of high-quality service and an exceptional Club experience; and to oversee the upgrade of kitchens on both the 15th and 16th floors of the Club with new appliances and culinary technology.
Chambers has worked with MedStar Health for 28 years. In his current role, he serves as strategic market lead for the Baltimore Region, coordinating execution of MedStar Health strategic objectives while supporting day-to-day operations at four hospitals: MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, MedStar Good Samaritan, MedStar Harbor and MedStar Union Memorial. He is also responsible for MedStar Health Home Care, the largest home health care provider in the region.
Prior to MedStar Health, Chambers worked at the University of Maryland Medical System for five years.
A native Baltimorean, he earned both his bachelor’s degree in business administration and management and his master’s degree in health sciences at Towson University. He serves on the boards of the Maryland Hospital Association, the Greater Baltimore Committee, the Towson University Foundation, and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Foundation. He recently completed his term on the American Hospital Association Region 3 Policy Board.
New Board of Governors members elected by Center Club membership at the June 7 annual meeting are: Franklyn Baker, President and CEO, United Way of Central Maryland; Asma Naeem, Director, Baltimore Museum of Art; Terrence Sawyer, president, Loyola University Maryland; and Mark Anthony Thomas, CEO, Greater Baltimore Committee.
