Arnold & Porter announced today that Gina Cavalier has joined the firm’s Life Sciences & Healthcare Regulatory practice as a partner, resident in Los Angeles. Over the past year, Arnold & Porter’s Life Sciences group was named a Practice Group of the Year by Law360 for its sustained commitment to providing creative and integrated support for the industry in critical regulatory, transactional, and litigation matters.

A seasoned fraud and abuse and compliance lawyer, Cavalier’s practice focuses on guiding life sciences entities through complex healthcare laws and regulations and providing clients with innovative solutions and strategic advice on their most important business concerns. Cavalier has particular experience in advising clients on issues arising from the Anti-Kickback Statute, as well as other federal and state anti-fraud authorities. She also helps clients structure and manage financial arrangements with customers and healthcare professionals. Additionally, Cavalier advises life sciences companies on data privacy issues, including building compliance programs under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and related regulations including the Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification Rules.

Cavalier’s arrival follows the recent expansion of the firm’s U.S. and European life sciences regulatory footprints with the opening of the Amsterdam office and the arrival of partners Carla Schoonderbeek and Bart Jong in August 2022, as well as the addition of partner Liz Lindquist in Denver and counsel Monique Nolan in Washington, D.C. The firm also bolstered its life sciences IP and life sciences transactions teams in New York with partners Abigail Struthers, Betty Yan, and Niket Rele.
