Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation Grant Applications for Non-Profit Organizations Now Available

The Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation has announced that applications are available for local non-profit agencies to apply for grants with applications due by October 2, 2023.

Applications for the grants are available at the bank’s website at www.SBDanbury.com. The Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation (SBD Foundation) is administered by a committee of Savings Bank of Danbury Corporators, directors and bank officers.

The grants help support agencies in the areas of Affordable Housing, Arts and Culture, Community Service and Economic Development, Education and Health and Human Service.

The Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation awarded $277,500 to 108 organizations in 19 communities in 2022. These grants represent a 15% increase over 2021 grants making this the foundations largest award year to date. The emphasis of the donations was in the areas of food insecurity, housing and mental health.

In 2004, the Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation was established to support local non-profit agencies that reflect the core values of the Bank.  The Foundation provides grants to support a wide range of initiatives and programs in the areas of Affordable Housing, Arts & Culture, Community Services & Economic Development, Education, and Health & Human Services.  Since its establishment, the Foundation has awarded more than $2.75 million to organizations making a positive difference in our communities.

The Foundation Grants Committee meets once a year to review requests. Awards are made to eligible 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations in all of the communities the bank serves. Any organization interested in being considered should review the application’s checklist and include all of the elements listed on the application.
