The City of Aventura announces the 2024 Aventura Stand Up Comedy Series that turns the intimate Aventura Arts & Cultural Center into one of the nation’s hottest comedy clubs with leading comics MODI, George Wallace and the stand up pioneers Funny Women of a Certain Age.
Voted one of the top 10 comedians in New York City by The Hollywood Reporter, MODI returns for two shows on Thursday, January 4 at 7 and 9:30 p.m.Having sold out twice before at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center, he is one of the comedy circuit’s most sought after performers. MODI has been featured on HBO, CBS, NBC, ABC, Comedy Central,Howard Stern and E! Entertainment. The New York Times declared the comic to be “The Next Jackie Mason,” and he has toured in Israel, the UK and Holland as well Montreal’s Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
Master comedian George Wallace is sure to bring down the house when he delivers the laughs on Friday, February 9 at 8 p.m.Since beginning his career as a writer for The Redd Foxx Show, Wallace has been selling out comedy clubs and concert venues all over the world. Finding humor everywhere he turns, Wallace derives his comedy from the everyday and shares moments of life delivered with a lightning-quick wit. Showbiz Weekly proclaimed, “This uncommonly shrewd comedian is known as the guy who can roll the room over if it’s dead.”
Straight from Showtime and three blockbuster comedy specials, Funny Women of a Certain Age closes out the series on Thursday, March 22 at 8 p.m.The comedy comesstraight from the unfettered mouths and uninhibited minds of the funniest, most daring, most experienced people in comedy who blazed the trail for the female comedians you see performing today.
