Expanding their fundraiser to stores nationwide, Pet Supermarket and Southeastern Guide Dogs continue to support guide dogs-in-training
Another impactful September is on the horizon for Pet Supermarket as the specialty pet supply retailer, with more than 220 locations across the U.S. Southeast, teams up with Southeastern Guide Dogs, a non-profit organization that transforms lives by creating and nurturing extraordinary partnerships between people and dogs.
During the month of September, donations collected from Pet Supermarket locations across the United States will play a pivotal role in advancing Southeastern Guide Dogs’ mission of breeding, raising and training elite guide dogs, service dogs and skilled companion dogs for people with vision loss, veterans with disabilities and children with significant challenges.
Customers at all Pet Supermarket locations are encouraged to donate amounts of their choosing throughout the month and visit www.GuideDogs.org/PetSupermarket to learn more about the partnership. With the donations, Southeastern Guide Dogs can continue providing their services – which include state-of-the-art research on canine health and development; selective breeding; expert dog training; comprehensive on-campus student instruction; and the most robust alumni support program in North America – at no cost to their clients.
“Our partnership with Southeastern Guide Dogs is all about coming together to create positive change,” said Daphene Whitney, Senior Vice President, Chief Merchandising Officer, Pet Supermarket. “Now in its second year and spanning the entirety of our locations, we’re excited to see this collaboration create a community of care and support that transcends boundaries.”
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Pet Supermarket for their continued support,” said Titus Herman, Chief Executive Officer, Southeastern Guide Dogs. “The generosity of partners like Pet Supermarket enable our mission to brighten the world for the people we serve, and support the wonderful dogs they love so much.”
As the official dog food of Southeastern Guide Dogs – providing the non-profit organization’s guide dog and service dog graduates with premium dog food free of charge – Fromm Family Pet Food is lending a paw alongside Pet Supermarket by providing a complimentary bag of tasty, top-tier treats to every pet parent making a $5 donation at the specialty pet supply retailer.
“We’re heartened that Pet Supermarket shares our commitment to providing premium nutrition for remarkable guide dogs and service dogs,” said Bryan Nieman, a 5th generation owner and Brand Director at Fromm Family Pet Food. “Our work together with Southeastern Guide Dogs is a collaborative effort bringing together big hearts and wagging tails to make a real difference in the world of pets and people.”
The month-long partnership with Southeastern Guide Dogs is part of Pet Supermarket’s Lend A Paw charitable giving initiative, which has raised over $2 million for non-profit organizations and local rescues supporting animals in need. For more information, visit www.PetSupermarket.com.
