Annual award program recognizes Sedro-Woolley’s Sedron Technologies and its Varcor® system revolutionizing wastewater management.
The Association of Washington Business honored Sedron Technologies as winner of the Manufacturing Excellence Award for Innovation in this year’s annual Evening of Excellence awards ceremony. Sedron Technologies was among ten Washington employers to receive top honors at the event on November 16th at Seattle’s Fairmont Olympic Hotel.
Sedron Technologies had a breakthrough year in 2023, partnering with Generate Upcycle to deploy a facility in Sumner, Washington dedicated to treating septage and biosolids from municipal wastewater. Through Sedron Technologies’ Varcor ® system, the facility provides a cheaper and cleaner way to dispose of liquid waste. With a total capacity of 150,000 tons annually, it can treat a significant portion of the septage and biosolids from Washington’s King and Pierce Counties.
“This year, our team has made critical strides toward improving the sustainability of wastewater treatment here in Washington while solidifying a foundation to scale the model across North America,” said Stanley Janicki, Chief Revenue Officer of Sedron Technologies.
In addition to its advancements in wastewater treatment plants, Sedron Technologies’ has deployed its Varcor® system in the North American dairy industry, distilling manure into clean water, organic nitrogen fertilizer, and dry, sterile, and stable solids for use as bedding or soil amendments. In partnership with Sedron Technologies, Natural Prairie Dairy uses the system at dairies in Texas and Indiana and is installing 13 additional Varcor® systems in Texas, Indiana, and Wisconsin.
“I want to thank the Association of Washington Business for recognizing our work and our important mission,” said Janicki. “We also congratulate and appreciate all of this year’s honorees for their contributions to their respective industries and Washington’s vibrant business community.”
