Loyola’s Sellinger School of Business Names Veronica Cool to Board

Loyola University Maryland’s Sellinger School of Business named Veronica Cool, MSF ’01, to the school’s Board of Sponsors. Cool is the founder and managing director of Cool & Associates LLC, a management consulting firm that connects organizations to the Hispanic community.

“I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Veronica for a number of years, watching her leverage her inherent leadership skills to make a true difference in both the Latino community as well as the broader community by acknowledging the importance of developing full inclusive relationships,” said Mary Ann Scully, MBA ’79, dean of Loyola’s Sellinger School of Business. “We are excited about our ability to work together to take Sellinger and Loyola University Maryland to new heights.”

Cool’s expertise includes community outreach and coalition building, marketing and communications strategy and entrepreneurial and business operations. As head of Cool & Associates LLC, she creates employee engagement and culture programming, specializing in diversity, equity and inclusion, to shape policy and organizational change. She addresses the removal of barriers, like language and resource access, to arrive at sustainable improvement and empowerment for the community and the clients she and her team serve.

“I’m honored to join Loyola, my alma mater, and support their efforts in attracting and developing the growing body of diverse students, many of whom are first generation and Latino,” Cool said. “Earning my degrees changed the trajectory of my life. I know I wouldn’t be here without the exposure and knowledge I gained at Loyola. I want to do my part to empower the students of today.”

Prior to establishing her firm, Cool spent 20 years in the corporate sector as vice president of Wells Fargo Bank and Bank of America. She serves on the boards of MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations and Maryland Latinos Unidos, which she co-founded.

Among her awards, she has been recognized with: the 2020 Latina Style Entrepreneur of the Year, 2019 Powermeter 100, NFL 2018 Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award, 2018 Baltimore Business Journal Leaders in Diversity, 2017 Innovator of the Year, Shift University Presenter Champion 2017 and The Baltimore Sun’s 25 Women to Watch in 2016.

She holds a master’s degree in finance from Loyola’s Sellinger School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Kutztown University. A native of the Dominican Republic, Cool lives in Carroll County, Maryland.
