Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin is pleased to announce that Lisa A. Shearman has been elected President of the Montgomery Bar Association (MBA). She is the 8th woman president and the 139th president of the Montgomery Bar Association.
At the MBA’s recent annual meeting where she was formally installed, Lisa indicated a primary initiative will be encouraging members to do more pro bono work and increase their service to the community. As she said, “We are all fortunate to be where we are and it is our responsibility to pay it forward.”

Lisa Shearman is a principal in the firm and chair of the Estates and Trusts Department. A Fellow of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, Lisa is an extremely accomplished trust and estates and business lawyer. She has over 30 years of experience advising and implementing simple to sophisticated estate plans for clients with a special focus on business continuity, succession, the reduction of estate taxes and preservation of wealth. Her practice also includes estate administration and post-mortem planning along with trust administration and the preparation of Inheritance Tax, Federal Estate and Gift Tax and Fiduciary Income Tax Returns. In addition, Lisa assists clients with the formation and operation of tax-exempt organizations including private foundations.
Her commitment to the state and local Bar Associations and to the community runs extremely deep. In addition to serving as President of the MBA, she is a Zone 9 Delegate in the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) and an active member of its Real Property, Probate and Tax Section. Among other awards, Lisa is the 2015 recipient of the PBA’s President’s Special Achievement Award and the 2014 Recipient of Milton O. Moss Community Service Award, presented by the Montgomery Bar Foundation.A graduate of the University of Scranton (B.S. 1989), Lisa received her law degree from Widener University in 1992 and her LL.M. in Taxation from Villanova University School of Law in 1994.
