New Rental Community Honored for its Design Quality and Development Approach
The Ivy, the luxury rental community that opened in December at 2 River Road in Chatham, was recently named an Excellence Award winner by the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
An awards committee from the ULI’s Northern New Jersey Chapter selected The Ivy to receive the 2024 Excellence Award in the category of suburban development. The Ivy’s developer BNE Real Estate Group, architect Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners, and landscape architect Bohler were all recognized for their work on the community.
The ULI’s Excellence Awards is a highly selective program juried by a multidisciplinary panel that typically consists of developers, planners, architects, public officials, community representatives, and other professionals. It recognizes truly superior development projects in the private, public and nonprofit sectors. Winning projects represent the highest standards of achievement in the industry.
The 2024 winners were selected for their “steadfast dedication to fostering sustainable development that builds stronger communities,” Mara Winokur, Executive Director of ULI Northern New Jersey said in a statement. The Ivy fit the criteria by delivering 245 new rental residences to a previously underutilized property, helping to diversify Chatham’s housing supply, increase tax revenue, and encourage long-term, sustainable, transit-oriented uses.
