Simmons Hanly Conroy, one of the nation’s largest mass torts firms and a national leader in the legal representation of mesothelioma patients and their families, is pleased to announce that the firm has renewed its annual platinum sponsorship of the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO).
Simmons Hanly Conroy is the longest consecutive yearly corporate supporter of the ADAO and has been a platinum sponsor (the highest sponsorship level) for the past 13 years. An independent, nonprofit organization, the ADAO is a global leader dedicated to preventing asbestos exposure, eliminating asbestos-related diseases, raising public awareness about the dangers of asbestos, advocating for an asbestos ban, and protecting asbestos victims’ civil rights. For more information about the ADAO, visit https://www.asbestosdiseaseawareness.org/.
“We are proud to continue our support for the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization,” said Simmons Hanly Conroy Chairman John Simmons.
“ADAO is a vital force for working to achieve a total ban of asbestos and helping improve the lives of individuals and families who have been adversely impacted by asbestos and asbestos-related diseases.”
ADAO co-founder Linda Reinstein said, “We are extremely grateful for the support from Simmons Hanly Conroy, as one of the most generous of our many corporate and individual donors who help us do the important work of promoting public health and advocating for the end of asbestos use.”
The firm’s 2024 sponsorship helps fund the ADAO’s education, advocacy, and community initiatives, including the organization’s annual Asbestos Awareness and Prevention Conferences and Global Asbestos Awareness Week activities, which this year will take place April 1-7 in Washington, D.C. The week’s activities spotlight the power of international partnerships and efforts to spread global awareness about the dangers of asbestos.
Specifically, Simmons Hanly Conroy’s sponsorship helps support the ADAO’s efforts to:
Educate the public and medical community about asbestos-related diseases and preventing asbestos exposure. Past contributions to ADAO have helped support advancements in early detection and prevention of, as well as a cure for, asbestos-related diseases.
- Advocate alongside other organizations worldwide to advance a global asbestos ban, raise awareness that asbestos is still legal and lethal in the United States, and protect asbestos victims’ civil rights; and
- Unite asbestos victims to share their stories, learn about treatment options, and support each other.
Simmons Hanly Conroy also raises money each year for the ADAO for mesothelioma cancer awareness and research through its Miles for Meso 5k races and fun runs/walks that have taken place in various states across the country, including Illinois, Washington, Ohio, Virginia and Florida. The events have raised more than $925,000 for mesothelioma research and advocacy organizations since the first race in 2009.
In addition, including funds from the Miles for Meso races and from its charitable foundations, Simmons Hanly Conroy has donated more than $20 million over the years to support various cancer research efforts across the country.
