Witherite Law Group and 1-800-TruckWreck are partnering with the Fort Worth ISD Family Action Center to provide school-aged children with back-to-school essentials at The Potter’s House of Fort Worth “Back 2 School Experience”. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, at The Fort Worth ISD Teaching and Learning Center, 1050 Bridgewood Dr., Fort Worth, TX 76112. This annual family-oriented experience, hosted by The Potter’s House of Fort Worth, will feature a health exposition, an “Ask the Teacher” panel, cooking demos, a live DJ, a pep rally and over 30 vendors offering various products and services. Additionally, the Fort Worth Police Department, in partnership with Brighter Outlook Inc., is generously contributing to the success of the “Back 2 School Experience” by providing meals for all attendees and volunteers.
As the primary sponsors, Witherite Law Group and 1-800-TruckWreck will give away 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies, including pencils, notebooks, paper, folders, rulers and highlighters for junior high and high school students and pencils, erasers, crayons, scissors and rulers for elementary students. Backpacks will be distributed to families from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The National Retail Federation states that families with school-aged children expect to spend an average of $875 on clothing, shoes, school supplies and electronics – almost as much as they planned to spend during last year’s winter holiday shopping. For underfunded schools, the addition of unconventional items like paper towels, facial tissue, soap, disinfectant wipes, printer paper and special technological equipment can further drive up the cost. Families are forced to adjust their budgets, make sacrifices or even go into debt to purchase every item on school supply lists. Witherite Law Group and its partners are relieving some of the financial strain associated with back-to-school preparation.
“Whether they’re advancing to the next level or starting for the first time, school can be both exciting and stressful for many reasons. Being unprepared should not be one of them,” said Amy Witherite, owner of 1-800-TruckWreck and founder of Witherite Law Group. “Teachers often spend their own money to purchase extra supplies and special products to create an enriching environment and to maximize students’ learning experience. We’re doing our best to help offset costs for families and teachers while setting students up for success from the start.”
Led by Amy Witherite, Witherite Law Group and 1-800-TruckWreck are committed to putting people first, investing in the communities they serve and building bridges of opportunity that create stronger communities.
