Transwestern Appoints Sarah Kenney Leader of Mid-Atlantic Tenant Advisory Practice

Sarah Kenney has joined Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS) as the Mid-Atlantic’s Tenant Advisory + Workplace Solutions practice leader. As Senior Managing Director, she will partner with regional leadership on strategic planning and oversee the tenant advisory team, prioritizing initiatives, deploying resources, and managing recruitment and retention. Kenney brings extensive leadership experience harmonizing marketing, sales and brokerage to empower teams, inspire innovation, drive growth, and maximize client impact.

“Sarah is the ultimate team captain with a passion for developing synergies that produce winning outcomes for clients,” said Phil McCarthy, TRS Mid-Atlantic Executive Managing Director. “Her servant leadership style, real estate knowledge, and people-centric approach will guide and support our tenant advisory professionals and, in turn, help our clients attain lasting success.”

Before joining Transwestern, Kenney catalyzed and grew CBRE’s Mid-Atlantic Occupier business, leading annual planning, business development and marketing, targeting multi-market accounts and spearheading pursuit strategies. She served as co-leader of CBRE’s DC office and a member of the Mid-Atlantic leadership team, recruiting top producers, managing team formation, and orchestrating cross-functional collaboration to drive strategic initiatives. Kenney spent 10 years at Whole Foods, where she instituted innovative growth plans and immersive customer experiences for 35 stores, surpassing $1B in annual sales.

“Transwestern’s acquisitions of MGA and WLS signaled the firm’s commitment to serving the tenant market with top resources and talent,” said Kenney. “I’m excited to continue building on that momentum by harnessing the team’s knowledge, experience, and entrepreneurial spirit to ensure we apply every available strategy, tactic, and resource to expand market relationships and achieve meaningful business results for our clients.”

Kenney earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication from the University of Virginia.
