From Healthcare to Weed Prevention, Planit’s Award-Winning Campaigns Prove Creativity and Strategy Are an Unstoppable Duo

Baltimore-based advertising agency, Planit, was recently honored with three prestigious awards for excellence in marketing strategy and execution. The CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst) “With Care” campaign won a platinum award at the 39th Annual American Marketing Association (AMA) Baltimore MX Awards and a Gold w3 at the 19th Annual w3 Awards, while Planit’s Spring 2024 campaign for Preen won second runner up MX Award.

CareFirst: “With Care” Campaign

Awards: Gold, w3 Award for Branded Content-Health and Wellness

Platinum, MX Award for Excellence in Integrated Campaigns, Brand Awareness Campaign

This campaign successfully increased brand recognition for CareFirst in the highly competitive healthcare market by highlighting complimentary wellness products through real member stories. The campaign further differentiated the brand within its designated market by illustrating how it provides value to its members, humanizing the brand in a meaningful way. This serves as an evolution of CareFirst’s 2022 campaign, “With Care,” which increased brand recognition, bringing to life how CareFirst delivers on their promise to create a healthier community in every sense of the word, With Care.

As a result, the campaign had 37 million video completions (35% above benchmark), a 55% average click-through rate, a 3% increase in year-over-year brand awareness and a 2.2% increase in brand consideration.

Preen: Preen Spring 2024 Campaign

Award: Second runner up Campaign of the Year, MX Award for Excellence in Digital/Interactive, Digital Marketing Campaign

Planit’s creative approach to weed prevention brand Preen’s “weed fights” campaign used humor to educate consumers on the difference between weed preventers and weed killers. It outperformed expectations, increasing impressions by 164% and website traffic by 115% year-over-year. Influencer partnerships reached over 1 million people, generating 1.4 million video views and 539,000 engagements.

The MX Awards, which are presented by the American Marketing Association Baltimore Chapter (AMA Baltimore,) were announced October 10, 2024, at the Baltimore Peninsula, which featured work from more than 80 entrants across 27 categories. The MX Awards showcase top marketing campaigns by Baltimore area organizations and agencies that raise the stakes through creativity, innovation and measurable impact.

The w3 Awards recognizes imaginative digital experiences, content and creativity, and is sanctioned by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), an invitation-only body of top-tier professionals from acclaimed media, interactive, advertising, and marketing organizations like Walt Disney Studios, Groove Jones, PepsiCo, McCann Health NY, Netflix, IBM, and more. This year’s event featured more than 1,000 entries with only around 20% of all entries being selected as Gold winners.
