Jack Resnick & Sons today announced lease renewals totaling 20,000 square feet with two tenants at 8 West 40th Street, its boutique 22-story office building in the heart of Midtown’s desirable Bryant Park neighborhood.
In the larger of the two transactions, Middlegate Securities will extend its 13,334-square-foot lease commitment for ten additional years. The financial advisory firm, which serves institutional and high net worth clients both in the United States and around the world, will re-stack and trade its current 3rd and 4th floor premises for the 4th and 5th floors at the building.
Technology company Merlyn Mind is also extending its lease, retaining its 6,667-square-foot space on the 20th floor. Merlyn Mind, which provides cutting-edge AI digital assistant solutions to educators, renewed its lease at 8 West 40th Street for an additional two years.
“Middlegate Securities and Merlyn Mind’s decisions to extend at 8 West are a testament to our relationships with both companies, the quality of the building, and its unmatched location on the doorstep of New York’s iconic Bryant Park,” said Jonathan Resnick, President of Jack Resnick & Sons.
Jack Resnick & Sons was represented in-house in both transactions by Executive Managing Director Brett Greenberg and Managing Director Fran Delgorio. Benjamin Blumenthal and Ralph Chattah of Noah & Co. represented Middlegate Securities. Evan Algier and Nick Masi of Cushman & Wakefield represented Merlyn Mind.
Originally designed by Starrett & Van Vleck and acquired by Jack Resnick & Sons in 1962, 8 West 40th Street boasts a distinctive, two-story lobby with electronic visitor access and security, and a fully modernized elevator system with new cabs.
