MidPoint Technology Group is proud to announce the success of its annual charity golf tournament, held this year at the picturesque Cannon Club in Lothian, MD. The event raised an impressive $56,000 for the Carson Scholars Fund, which was founded in 1994 to address the education crisis, providing scholarships to academically talented students who demonstrate a commitment to community service.
The event brought together MidPoint employees, sponsors, partners and clients for a fun day of networking and philanthropy. Participants enjoyed friendly competition at the country club and celebratory reception, while supporting a cause that positively impacts and empowers the belief that education and compassion are foundational to achieving success in life.
“This year we chose the Carson Scholars Fund as our donation recipient. Both John Vingsen (MidPoint SVP & COO) and I are fortunate enough to have joined the CSF board this past year,” said Dave Kaspary, President & CEO. “We have been able to see firsthand the good the organization does as well as the passion that the Carson Family and the CSF organization puts into their program. We believe education is vitally important for our local communities and the next generation. Dr. and Mrs. Carson’s belief that if children could be taught early to excel, they would stay motivated and have a higher chance of education success later in life – were principles we aligned with.”
The Carson Scholars Fund supports two main initiatives: The Carson Scholars Program and The Ben Carson Reading Project. The scholarship program awards students who have embraced high levels of academic excellence and community service with $1,000 college scholarships. The Ben Carson Reading Project provides funding to schools to build and maintain Ben Carson Reading Rooms – warm, inviting rooms where children can discover the joy of independent leisure reading.
“The Carson Scholars Fund is incredibly grateful to be the beneficiary of this year’s annual MidPoint Technology golf tournament,” said Katie Coleman, Carson Scholars Fund’s Executive Director. “Through your generosity we are empowering young minds to continue to strive for excellence and serve their communities. Together we are shaping a new generation of future leaders.”
MidPoint is grateful to the many people who allowed the team to accomplish their goal of raising funds for a good cause. “Our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament was a great success,” mentioned Kaspary. “Not only were we able to make our fundraising goal, but I believe we were able to advance the experience for all that attended. We strive to make the event better each year we put it on and we are looking forward to next year’s event!”
MidPoint believes in making a difference in our communities – one swing at a time!
