Advex, a San Francisco, CA-based startup providing AI Vision solutions for manufacturing, raised $3.5M in Seed funding.
The round was led by Construct Capital, with participation from Pear VC, Emerson Collective, and angel investors Arash Ferdowsi (Dropbox founding CTO) and Ankit Jain (Infinitus CEO).
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts.
Led by CEO Pedro Pachuca, Advex creates self-healing AI Vision models for industrial applications by leveraging diffusion-based synthetic data. It researches representation learning and diffusion models to solve the out-of-distribution generalization problem.
By combining data collected from the real world with use-case specific synthetic data, the company ensures that AI Vision models are trained on comprehensive and balanced datasets, improving AI’s performance and reliability in real-world environments. And when the real-world changes, it can quickly generate synthetic data and keep AI Vision models at production-level accuracy.
Automotive, aerospace, and consumer electronics industries leverage Advex’s technology for a multitude of use cases including surface defect detection and vision-guided robotics.
The company is an NVIDIA Inception program member and partners with machine vision providers to quickly reach customers and integrate deeply into customer workflows.
