New development to deliver national home builder’s 100th workforce housing unit in Palm Beach County over the past three years
PulteGroup, one of the nation’s largest home builders, purchased 4.5 acres from the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) for Cottage District. The Heart of Boynton community will feature 41 for-sale residential units, comprising 19 single-family homes and 22 townhomes. Through the development of Cottage District, PulteGroup will reach a milestone with the construction of its 100th workforce housing home in the County over the past few years.
“Cottage District will be our fourth workforce housing project in Palm Beach County,” said Brent Baker, PulteGroup’s Southeast Florida Division President. “The combined 100 units built in the past three years reflects our commitment to providing local residents with affordable housing and allowing them to achieve the dream of homeownership.”
All units in the Pulte Homes-branded community will be placed in Palm Beach County’s workforce housing program. Homes will be priced within the financial reach of buyers in the lowest two area-median-income categories.
The land fronts Seacrest Boulevard between Northeast Fourth and Fifth Avenues, with Northeast First Street along its rear border. PulteGroup was selected in July 2022 to negotiate with the CRA to purchase and develop the property. A formal agreement was reached in January 2023.
In February 2024, PulteGroup received approval to proceed with the site’s redevelopment. Plans include on-street parking, street lighting, 5-foot-wide sidewalks, and landscaping.
The residences are designed to meet Boynton’s sustainable development standards. Development will begin in early 2025, with sales starting later that year. The County will manage the buyer application and approval process.
PulteGroup’s Southeast Florida division builds homes from Broward County to Indian River County under the Pulte Homes, DiVosta and Del Webb brands. Home prices range from the $300s to over $5 million.
