Day Pitney Bolsters New York Intellectual Property Team with Attorney Claire Gibson

Day Pitney LLP is proud to announce that Claire Gibson has joined the firm as counsel in its Intellectual Property and Technology practice group, located in the New York office. Her arrival follows the recent addition of Boston partner Brooke A. Penrose, reaffirming Day Pitney’s commitment to excellence and growth in its Intellectual Property practice.

In her new role, Gibson will focus her practice on advising and representing clients in developing and protecting their global trademark portfolios. Her work will also include advising clients on copyright and domain issues, licensing and other IP transactions, as well as providing IP due diligence in support of corporate transactions.

An accomplished attorney with more than 15 years of legal experience, Gibson focuses on complex intellectual property matters, including trademark prosecution, portfolio management, and enforcement. She has provided holistic services in the ongoing management of domestic and international trademark portfolios to clients across a variety of industries, including media, publishing, technology, retail, fashion, medical devices, and financial services. Before joining Day Pitney, she served as an IP partner and held senior positions at leading law firms, providing guidance on brand protection and navigating intricate USPTO proceedings, including applications and oppositions.

Gibson is the chair of the New York State Bar Association, Intellectual Property Section, Trademark Law Committee, a board member of the National Conference of Women’s Bar Association, and the New York City Bar’s Trademarks & Unfair Competition Committee. She is an active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and Immediate Past President of the Military Spouse JD Network (MSJDN).

Gibson earned her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and her B.A. from Columbia University. Gibson is admitted to practice in New York.
