Specializing in American and international foods from more than five continents, Global Food, a Virginia-based chain, plans to open its seventh location within the Baltimore/Washington region
Global Food, a fast-growing regional supermarket chain specializing in American and international food, has selected Meadows Shopping Center in Baltimore County as the site for its initial entry point into the greater Baltimore metropolitan area. Owned by Supermax Enterprises, the Virginia-based grocer signed a lease with Atlantic Realty Companies for 36,360 square feet of space and intends to open within the 115,000 square foot community shopping center fronting Security Boulevard in Woodlawn this fall. Jai Kim of Kemper Morgan Realty represented the tenant and Michael Patz and Matt Copeland of KLNB represented the Landlord in this leasing transaction.
Meadows Shopping Center is located at 6660Security Boulevard at the signalized intersection of Security Boulevard and Woodlawn Drive and is less than one-quarter of a mile from the Baltimore Beltway (Interstate 695) and Interstate 70 and is anchored by dd’s Discounts, Family Dollar and Walgreens. The presence of Global Food will elevate visibility, consumer traffic and sales from its wide community draw.
Headquartered in Sterling, Virginia, Global Food currently operates supermarket stores in the Alexandria, Manassas, and Woodbridge markets in Northern Virginia and in the Silver Spring and Oxen Hill markets in suburban Maryland. In addition, Global Food operates its internet sales and logistics divisions as well as its distribution center from Sterling, Virginia.
The supermarket concept focuses on providing a full complement of American and International food items including household staples. Global Food also carries a full complement of Asian, European, Indian, Latin, and Middle Eastern food specialties. Full and part-time employees will be hired from the local community to work at the store.
