Today on citybiz, we visit with the newest morning show team in Baltimore radio. Steve Kramer and Jessica Dutra launched the “Kramer and Jess” show on Mix 106.5’s morning show in September. In just over a month, Kramer and Jess have immersed themselves in the Baltimore community and introduced themselves to the Baltimore radio audience.
In this interview, Kramer and Jess share their initial impressions of the Charm City, their goals and aspirations for their show and how much they are looking forward to connecting with their listeners. As recent San Diego transplants, they are looking forward to experiencing all that Baltimore has to offer as well as providing an outlet for their listeners to find a comfortable place to turn during these especially chaotic times.
Jessica Dutra most recently held multiple roles at KHTS-FM in San Diego, including co-host, producer, and social media coordinator for the “Geena The Latina and Frankie V” morning show. Steve Kramer most recently served as morning show host for at KHTS-FM in San Diego as part of “Kramer and Geena Mornings.” Prior to that, he co-hosted mornings at sister station KMLE Country@107.9 (KMLE-FM) in Phoenix, WSJT-FM in Tampa Bay and WILN-FM in Panama City, FL. Kramer also created and currently hosts the Certified Mama’s Boy podcast.
In addition to the radio show, Mix 106.5 launched a companion podcast for the show, Kramer and Jess Uncensored, which is available to listeners nationwide via RADIO.COM, a leading digital audio and content platform and the fastest growing digital audio platform in America. Differences | You’re coming to Baltimore from San Diego…have you been able to identify the differences and similarities in the two markets?

Social Media | How much does social media play into a radio show?
Typical Day | I’m not sure if people understand the work and the scheduling that goes into a morning show. Clearly, you have to be “on” and ready to entertain at a VERY early hour. Tell us how a normal day works for you and how you develop the show, how you decide what to talk about, etc.
Podcast | I understand you will be launching a companion podcast to go along with the radio show, tell us about that?
