Molly Dee-Ramasamy Honored as One of Engineering’s Young Professionals of the Year

Molly Dee-Ramasamy, P.E., CEA, head of deep carbon reduction at Jaros, Baum & Bolles in New York City, has been named one of five 2021 Young Professionals of the Year by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), the business voice of the nation’s engineering and design industry.

ACEC’s annual Young Professional of the Year Award recognizes the accomplishments of young professionals who have contributed to the engineering industry and have made an impact on society.

“These are the future leaders of our industry,” said ACEC President and CEO Linda Bauer Darr. “They are the bright young men and women who are always ready to take on a new project, and whose intelligence and fresh perspectives bring new insights to our built environment.”

As the policy initiative in New York City to reduce carbon emissions from all city building by 80 percent by 2020 took shape, Dee-Ramasamy initiated a process of assessing how clients’ buildings would conform to such a regulation, and formed an in-house Deep Carbon Reduction working group to formulate business strategy and thought leadership around the issue. She has led 12+ complex building decarbonization and building electrification studies for large commercial, institutional, and cultural buildings, and won two competitive innovation projects, including the Energy Efficient Indoor Air Quality Study.

To qualify for the award, nominees must have been 35 years of age or younger on December 31, 2020 and be a Registered Professional Engineer. Nominations for the award are made through ACEC’s 52 state and regional Member Organizations. Nominees are evaluated and the honorees selected by the Awards Subcommittee of ACEC’s Committee of Fellows.
