Wining and Dining Raises Money for Astor Services

More than $16,000 Raised to Benefit Astor Services for Children & Families

Several Hudson Valley restaurants recognized Mental Health Awareness Month in May and showed their support for Astor Services for Children & Families (Astor) and the mental/behavioral services the nonprofit provides to children and families throughout the Hudson Valley and the Bronx. In June, the Sip Into Summer event featured some of the finest wines of the Hudson Valley in support of Astor Services. Astor has provided more than 155,000 tele-mental health sessions and has admitted over 3,800 new clients since the start of the pandemic.

During Astor’s first Dine Out event, participating restaurants either donated a portion of their proceeds to Astor on one day each week in May, or opted to make a one-time donation. The Sip Into Summer event featured Hudson Valley sourced charcuterie, wine and beautiful vistas at the Milea Estate Vineyard. Over $16,000 was raised for Astor through these events, helping to ensure that every child can meet life’s challenges, pursue their dreams and reach their full potential.

“The pandemic impacted so many individuals and businesses within the community,” said Richmond Arce, senior manager of public relations & special events at the Children’s Foundation of Astor. “We were thrilled by the support and encouraged by all of our restaurant friends that took part in the Dine Out event. We’d like to extend our thanks to Savona’s, Red Hook, Kingston and Poughkeepsie, All that Java, Kingston, Tivoli, Rhinebeck and Millbrook, Cinnamon Indian Cuisine, Rhinebeck, Le Petit Bistro, Rhinebeck, Enzo’s Pizza & Restaurant, Kingston, Samuel’s Sweet Shop, Rhinebeck, Homeplate Deli, Kingston, GioBatta Alimentari, Tivoli and Market Street, Rhinebeck, all of whom supported this critical fundraiser. Big thanks also to Upstate Down, PCA (Professional Computer Associates), Ruges Automotive and Dr. and Mrs. Kate Kortbus who were sponsors of the Sip Into Summer event.”
