Sunrise Senior Living Appoints Nick Stengle as Chief Operating Officer and Tavinder (Tav) Hare as Chief Financial Officer

Seasoned Executives to Strengthen Leadership Team & Support Company’s Strategic Growth

MCLEAN, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Sunrise Senior Living, a leading provider of senior living services, announced today the appointment of Nick Stengle as Chief Operating Officer and Tavinder (Tav) Hare as Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Stengle brings more than twenty years of executive experience in growth strategy development, global operations and leading major organizational initiatives to Sunrise. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer of Kindred at Home, the largest home health provider in the U.S., where he supported a team of over 30,000 associates as they delivered care to more than 100,000 patients, including during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to Kindred at Home, Mr. Stengle advised private equity portfolio companies including as a member of TPG Capital’s portfolio operations team. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President, North America Operations for HMSHost International and Vice President – Global Operations for Marriot International. Earlier in his career, Mr. Stengle was a Project Leader with Boston Consulting Group. Mr. Stengle is a military veteran having spent 11 years in the U.S. Air Force, including serving as a Top Gun F-15E Instructor Pilot and Deputy Director of Operations. He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with academic and military distinction and received the Officer of the Year award.

For more than two decades, Mr. Hare has served as a highly accomplished, execution and team-focused Finance executive who has achieved success solving difficult business challenges, driving operational efficiencies through strategic transformations and process improvement, as well as leveraging financial planning and analysis functions to inform decision making, principally in real estate and development-centric organizations. Before joining Sunrise, Mr. Hare served as Chief Financial Officer of Retail Real Estate for Majid Al Futtaim, a real estate and retail operations organization with a presence in 20 countries and 44,000 employees worldwide. Under Mr. Hare’s leadership, he led a cross-functional effort to transform both Finance and Operations into a world-class, global real estate operator and helped effectively steer the organization through the global pandemic.

Previously, Mr. Hare held senior leadership roles over a twelve-year period with Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, one of the world’s largest international REITs, with assets under management of over $60 billion and $14 billion of assets under development. Earlier in his career, Mr. Hare served in various financial positions at Wyndham Worldwide, Anthem and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Mr. Hare earned his MBA from the University of Southern California, B.S. in Business from Indiana University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
