Partnership makes donating cars easy from tow truck pick up to tax deduction — all at no cost
Baltimore, MD – Chimes, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit provider of services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, has announced a partnership with Charitable Adult Rides & Services (CARS) for a new vehicle donation program.
Individuals who are seeking to get rid of an unwanted vehicle can donate them to Chimes and directly support the services the organization provides to people with disabilities and mental health challenges as well as disabled veterans.
Donors can now donate cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, trailers, and boats, as a unique way to support Chimes’ mission. Vehicle pick-up is at no cost for the donor and CARS oversees the entire process, from vehicle pick-up to the sale of the vehicle. Donors also qualify for a tax deduction.
“Each vehicle donated through the Chimes Car Donation program has a direct impact on our efforts to provide job training and vocational services to people with disabilities and our Military Veterans,” said Terry Blackwell, President and CEO of Chimes International. “I was honored to be the first person to donate a car to Chimes, and I am thrilled that my contribution will make a difference in helping people we serve achieve their fullest potential.”
Vehicle donations are an easy and impactful giving option. For more information on the Chimes Vehicle Donation Program or to get started with your donation, visit https://chimes.careasy.org/home.
About Chimes
Chimes was founded in 1947 as a school for five children with moderate intellectual disabilities whose parents rejected the then prevailing wisdom that their children would never achieve meaningful or productive lives. From those modest beginnings, Chimes has grown into one of the industry’s largest providers of services and supports for people with barriers to independent living. Today, Chimes Family Services offers a wide range of programming, including day habilitation, residential, educational, vocational, employment, and behavioral health services and supports for nearly 20,000 individuals annually in six Mid-Atlantic States. Chimes is also closely affiliated with Chimes Israel through Board representation, and assistance with program design and funding. Chimes distinguishes itself from other disability service providers through its unique emphasis on client centered, evidence-based program design.
