When I was writing this report it was Saturday 3:38 a.m. … still in 2020. Surely I was not planning on writing a report at that hour but the US Senate Committee on Commerce, Science & Transportation had published its report on aviation safety oversight and one of the topics discussed is the Boeing (NYSE:BA) 737 MAX (re)certification and some new details have surfaced. Obviously, Boeing caught the headlines in this but in this “comment styled analysis” I also want to put things including the content and findings of the entire report in context. If you want to read the Committee report, which I can recommend (it took me a couple of hours to read the 102-page report), you can check it out here.
The report was published immediately for subscribers of The Aerospace Forum and is now, shortly delayed due to the holidays, made available for readers on the regular platform.
