The Hotel at the University of Maryland, a AAA 4-diamond hotel and conference center located near the Maryland/Washington, D.C. line, announced today that guests’ dogs are welcome at the hotel with the launch of its new pet policy and program—PAWs, which stands for “Pets Are Welcome.” The new program incorporates special considerations and accommodations for “man’s best friend” and is expected to expand to other pets in the future.
The PAWs policy permits dogs up to 100 lbs. with a maximum of two dogs per room. Each furry guest will receive a special PAWs welcome kit that includes special dog treats and waste bags. Additionally, the front desk will have a supply of bowls, mats, and dog-friendly supplies available for guests.
“Dogs are important members of many families, and we understand how much they can enhance a trip and make guests comfortable when they are away from home,” said Linda Westgate, General Manager at The Hotel at the University of Maryland. “Our motto is that ‘At The Hotel, everyone deserves to be pampered,’ and that includes the four-legged members of families.”
