San Diego-based full service agency 62ABOVE has been chosen as the Agency of Record by Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau (Monterey County CVB). The agency was selected after a competitive process in which several agencies vied for the account to represent this Central Coast gem.
No stranger to destination and tourism marketing, 62ABOVE enjoys deep experience in this category. Just completing a project assignment for Monterey County CVB, the agency also looks after Love Catalina/Catalina Island Tourism Authority, The City of Rancho Mirage Tourism and several other destinations in the hospitality arena.
“62ABOVE created an innovative and compelling recovery campaign that inspired travelers to pick Monterey County as the destination they’d want to travel to as the world reopened,” said Rob O’Keefe, president and CEO of Monterey County CVB. “They are the perfect partners to help our destination come back even better than before.”
Partnering with Monterey County CVB, 62ABOVE will work alongside the client marketing communications team on marketing strategy, creative development and execution of advertising campaigns, media planning and placement and more.
Earlier this year, the agency was tasked with creating and producing a national TV, print and digital campaign designed to encourage post-pandemic travel to Monterey County. The campaign, Now is the Moment, has been very successful and is still running in various national markets. Now the team is working on a marketing campaign aimed at group business, which will debut in the fall. Further campaigns and initiatives are in the planning stages for the fiscal year which started July 1, 2021.
“With the success of Now is the Moment, the agency proved that they understand our destination and are aligned in supporting our aspirations to be a nationally recognized travel brand,” said Lindsey Guinn, director of marketing communications at Monterey County CVB. “We look forward to our expanded relationship and continued creative collaboration to set Monterey County apart from a very competitive tourism landscape.”
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to continue this great relationship with Monterey County CVB,” stated Jon Bailey, Chief Relationships Officer and co-founder of 62ABOVE. “This is truly one of the most beautiful destinations on the West Coast, and we can’t wait to show the world more of its attributes.”
Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau represents 16 major destinations within the county including Monterey, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Pebble Beach, Big Sur and more.
