New cohort selected from largest ever application pool for WTCI’s EDGE program
The World Trade Center Institute (WTCI) has announced the seventh cohort of Bowe Fellows participating in the organization’s Emerging and Developing Global Executives (EDGE) Program, which kicks off today. The 10-month program prepares rising executives and entrepreneurs for the evolving field of global business.
The 25 Baltimore professionals selected for this year’s cohort – the largest application pool ever in the program’s six-year history – will participate in nine global leadership sessions taught by subject matter experts with decades of private sector experience. From Work in Progress’s Betsy Caine to Sage Policy Group’s Anirban Basu, these leaders provide individualized training that enables participants to reach the next stage of career growth.
Throughout the program, participants will sharpen the cross-cultural skills they need to drive international business success in Baltimore and beyond. Today’s first in-person session features Gerry Sandusky, founder of The Sandusky Group and broadcaster with WBAL, who will help the Fellows master the key to a successful leadership style in the art of communication. In addition to the sessions, the EDGE Program offers access to international networking events, a ticket to the Maryland International Business Leadership Awards and a one-of-a-kind retreat for participants. The program is a chance to return to in-person professional opportunities after a complicated year and a half for global business executives.
“Through the EDGE Program, we will bring this diverse group of emerging, globally-minded leaders together to both support their individual career growth and to contribute to greater success and growth for their businesses,” said Susan Aplin, Co-CEO, WTCI. “We’ve hand-picked speakers from our extensive business network and selected compelling topics, each session incorporating cross-cultural training that focuses on different countries of interest.”
