CREW Miami (Commercial Real Estate Women Miami) announces its year-end, holiday event with special guest, Alexandra Wilkis Wilson:
Entrepreneur, Investor, Board Director, Tech Advisor, Mentor, Author, Public Speaker, Co-Founder of Gilt, GlamSquad and Clerisy.
The holiday event will take place at the Deck at 545 Wyn on Thursday, December 9 from 6:30 – 9:00 pm. Both members and non-members are welcome.
In addition, both the CREW Miami awards and Roslyn K. Berrin Scholarship winners will be announced.
In 2019, Roslyn Berrin, founder of Berrin Realty Inc. and the first recipient of CREW Miami’s Lifetime Achievement Award, initiated the CREW Miami Scholarship Fund. The Roslyn K. Berrin Real Estate Scholarship is available to females enrolled as a Junior or Senior-level undergraduate or graduate student with a declared major in a real estate-related discipline, at a university or college located in Miami-Dade County, Florida; and maintain a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.0. (Plus, complimentary CREW Miami student membership and mentor opportunities.)
“CREW Miami is committed to the mission of advancing Women in Commercial Real Estate globally and we do this by offering educational programs, a successful Mentorship program and Scholarships to women in CRE related programs,” states Ligia Labrada, President of UNUM Consulting, CREW Miami President 2021. “This year has been particularly challenging in many aspects, not having a COVID playbook also gave me an opportunity to be creative and try new things. Despite dealing with the pandemic realities, I am proud of all we accomplished this year. We grew our membership, held a successful Golf Tournament where we raise funds for scholarships. We also held our first CREW Miami/CREW Boston Learning Exchange which gave others the opportunity to learn about the Resilient Projects of our City, expanded our network with those from Boston and through our Mentorship Program, contributed to the job placement of one of our Mentees. In hindsight, 2021 has been the toughest yet most rewarding year, I am honored to have served as CREW Miami 2021 President and look forward to staying involved!”
About Alexandra Wilkis Wilson
Ms. Wilkis Wilson is best known professionally as Co-Founder of ecommerce sensation, Gilt which transformed the landscape of luxury and fashion ecommerce with the invention of the flash sale, creating urgency of demand and innovating the online shopping experience. She owned the Chief Merchant role at Gilt and filled many other seats on the journey from start-up to $650M in revenues.
Having learned how to parlay the ability to sell luxury and accessible luxury items into selling travel and experiences, Alexandra was more than intrigued by the idea of using technology to efficiently deliver services. As a co-founder of GlamSquad, Alexandra brought beauty to the home of the time constrained, and GlamSquad professionals engendered a level of trust which ultimately permitted the development of a product line, creating a full-service beauty company.
