The Highlands School Announces Stock Donation Program

The Highlands School, an EF (Executive Function) smart school in Harford County that specializes in educating bright children with dyslexia, ADHD, and other language-based learning differences, is now accepting publicly traded securities (stocks, bonds, or mutual funds)through its recently launched stock donation program.

Stock donations are particularly valuable as they are a tax-savvy way to give. When donating stock, benefactors can avoid capital gains tax and receive and income tax deduction.

“What makes the stock donation program so great is that it offers benefits for both the school and the donor,” said Scott Evensen, President of the school’s Board of Directors. “We are excited to introduce a new way to give that will potentially cater to new audiences. Donations make The Highlands School’s work possible and allow us to reach even more students.”

In addition to stock donations, there are many other ways to give to The Highlands School including

  • Supporting the Annual Fund
  • In-kind gifts
  • Planned giving
  • And more
