Madison International Realty Appoints Carey Flaherty as CIO

Madison International Realty announced the appointment of Carey Flaherty as Chief Investment Officer, overseeing the firm‘s Americas, UK and European investment activities.  Flaherty, who joined Madison in 2003 and was named Co-CIO in 2017, will continue to be based in Madison’s headquarters in New York City. Madison International Realty specializes in providing liquidity solutions to exisiting real estate investors, as well as acquiring partial ownership stakes and joint venture interests in prime properties and portfolios in major markets in the US, UK and Western Europe across all sectors.

“I‘m delighted to announce we are appointing Carey as the sole Chief Investment Officer of Madison.  Carey has been with Madison for 18 years, has grown with the firm and continues to build on his experience overseeing our investments across all sectors and geographies,” said Ronald Dickerman, Madison International Realty Founder and President.

“We believe Madison’s market position as a leading secondary buyer of existing ownership interests has been augmented by a data driven approach to investment selection and sector tilts toward growth oriented, recession-resistant asset classes such as industrial, multi-family, single family rental, life science, cold storage and generational office,“ said Dickerman.

In keeping with Madison’s direct secondary approach, Flaherty and team have overseen the deployment of approximately $1.0 billion of equity over the last 18 months, as Madison has leveraged multiple opportunities during a period of heightened market volatility, Dickerman said.
