The Aventura Arts & Cultural Center performances this February feature an array of international films, musical, theatrical and dance presentations.
The Aventura International Film Series continues with Perfumes on Tuesday, February 1 at 7:30 p.m. Perfumes travels a bumpy road to friendship of two polar opposites when a demanding fragrance designer hires a chauffeur with too many points on his license and too few customers. Variety calls the film, “A feel-good tale of friendship with a fragrant and very French backdrop.” Not rated, this film is presented in French with English subtitles and is not suitable for children under 12. The Aventura International Film Series presented by the City of Aventura is hosted by Shelly Isaacs who introduces the film and leads a post-screening discussion. Tickets are $12.

The City of Aventura presents a Smart Stage Matinee performance of A Raisin in the Sun on Thursday, February 3 at 11:30 a.m. National Players is honored to portray this award-winning drama with a universal story about an African American family in the ‘50s dealing with prejudice, history, and a world where everything changes. Feb. 5 – Cirque Zuma Zuma
The City of Aventura is proud to present the National Players’ production of A Raisin in the Sun on Thursday, February 3 at 8 p.m. The members of the Younger family harbor big dreams in their small house on the south side of Chicago. When their deceased father’s insurance money comes through, those dreams might actually become a reality. Walter Lee wants to run his own business and earn financial independence, but his sister Beneatha dreams of attending medical school. Meanwhile, their mother Lena wants to move them all to a bigger home in a white neighborhood. Tickets are $40-$45.
Feb. 12 – Wild World of Animals Starring Grant Kemmerer And Friends

Feb. 17 – ABBA MANIA
The City of Aventura presents Cirque Zuma Zuma on Saturday, February 5 at 2 and 7 p.m. A finalist on America’s Got Talent, this African-style cirque spectacular features awe-inspiring acrobats, circus and street performers that deliver amazing acts and breathtaking non-stop action. Audiences will be introduced to new ideas about elephants and painted clowns and twirling trapeze artists in a dazzling array of acts that represent the music, magic, and movement of African traditions. African Acrobats International has brought this African circus acts to audiences across the globe. Feb. 26 – Catapult-Magic Shadows
Take a giant step back into the Renaissance and Baroque periods with the ethereal voices of the acclaimed male vocal ensemble Profeti Della Quinta on Sunday, February 6 at 5 p.m.
Presented by RK Cultural Productions, this vocal ensemble was founded in the Galilee region of Israel by Elan Rotem. The musicians are based in Basel, Switzerland where they are graduates of the renowned Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. PDQ brings to Miami a sumptuous array of musical delights, featuring the songs of the distinguished composers, Salomone Rossi, Carlos Monteverdi and others. Tickets are $40-$50.
Feb. 25 – The Jersey Boyz Tour-Joe Gorga and Mike Marino
2 Pianos From Russia take the stage on Thursday, February 10 at 7:30 p.m. Studying and performing together since the Moscow Conservatory, pianists Asiya Korepanova and Ilya Kazantsev will present the great Russian works from the 1900’s to today including Scriabin, Shostakovich, Rachmaninoff and a world premiere piece. The only pianist currently performing Liszt’s 24 Etudes as a single program and one of select few to perform a concerto list that features over 60 works, Korepanova is recognized not only for her achievements as a pianist, but also for her work as a transcriber, composer, visual artist, and poet. Hailed by The Washington Post as “virtually flawless,” the multi-Grammy- Award® nominated pianist Kazantsev is a member of the Hermitage Piano Trio and widely recognized as a versatile recitalist and pioneer of new music. Feb. 10 – 2 Pianos From Russia
South Florida Legends presents Piano Man: A Billy Joel Tribute on Friday, February 11 at 8 p.m. Featuring musician Mark Anthony who joyously plays homage to Billy Joel, one of America’s most beloved icons since releasing his first hit song “Piano Man” in 1973. Hailing from New York, like Joel himself, Anthony and his band masterfully recreate the look and sound of Joel to perfection, leaving audiences in a “New York State Of Mind” long after they leave the concert. Tickets are $55-$65.
The City of Aventura presents Wild World of Animals Starring Grant Kemmerer and Friends on Saturday, February 12 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Audiences will explore the fascinating world of wildlife, featuring live animals with some of the most majestic, interesting, bizarre, and critically endangered species in the world. Stars include a leopard, monkey, wolf, badger, red ruffed lemur, eagle owl, marine toad, dictator scorpions, legless lizard, cobra, alligator and a 100-year-old alligator snapping turtle. Wild World of Animals is an entertaining and educational show presenting animals born in captivity displaying natural behaviors facilitated by an extremely knowledgeable moderator and guide. Tickets are $35.
Feb. 11 – Piano Man: A Billy Joel Tribute
The City of Aventura presents ABBA MANIA on Thursday, February 17 at 8 p.m. The two-hour concert recreates ABBA’s sound perfectly and respectfully for longtime fans and a new generation who never had the opportunity to see the original group live. Abba Mania delivers an incredible sing-along performance of uplifting dance songs and timeless tunes such as “Dancing Queen,” “Waterloo,” “Mamma Mia,” “The Winner Takes It All,” “Super Trouper,” “Fernando,” “Take A Chance On Me” and many more. Tickets $50-$55.
The City of Aventura presents Splish Splash: The Music of Bobby Darin on Friday, February 18 at 8 p.m. Las Vegas showman Ron Gartner celebrates the music, life and times of Bobby Darin with 23 great songs and a swinging band. The backstage stories of this entertainment phenomenon – from teen idol, singer-songwriter, movie star and nightclub performer – honor the legacy of the swingingest guy who ever put on a tux. Hits including “Mack The Knife,” “Splish Splash,” “Dream Lover,” “Beyond the Sea,” and “Clementine” cover everything from Darin’s rock ‘n’ roll days to his legendary Evening at the Copa. Feb. 19 & 20 – Siudy Flamenco: A Dos
The City of Aventura presents Siudy Flamenco “A Dos” on Saturday February 19 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, February 20 at 5 p.m. A flamenco suite created by Siudy Garrido, with original music by composer/guitarist Jose Luis de La Paz. Siudy interprets flamenco numbers “A Dos”, which means in a duet, creating mesmerizing dance solos accompanied by the simple yet intense musical presence of De la Paz guitar. The company ballet appears interspersed within-and-in between movements that take the audience on a journey into the intimate emotions in the music over the classic Flamenco rhythms known as Seguidilla, Alegrías and Solea. It explores and presents a journey through the diversity of colors, sensations, and emotions of a pure-rooted Flamenco, while at the same time remaining open to the present, a proper reading of the different styles of Flamenco dancing. Michael Martocci presents The Jersey Boyz Tour – Joe Gorga and Mike Marino on Friday, February 25 at 7:30 p.m. From the inner city of Paterson, New Jersey, real estate mogul and author Joe Gorga has learned how to build an empire from the ground up. The City of Aventura presents Catapult on Saturday, February 26 at 2 and 7 p.m. in a magical, captivating show for the whole family. An America’s Got Talent finalist, Catapult features amazing dancers who create shadow silhouettes of shapes from the world around us in a kaleidoscope of colorful storytelling full of laughs, emotions and miraculous transformations. Cinematic scenes from Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” spring to life as dancers transform into a mountain, an elephant, a dragon and even a helicopter. Tickets $35-40.
The City of Aventura presents Pinkalicous on Sunday, February 27 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The Books Alive: From Page to Stage series brings the wildly popular book series to life in in this perfectly pink musical. Pinkalicious can’t stop eating pink cupcakes and her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor’s office with a severe case of “pinkititus,” which makes her pink from head to toe! Pinkalicious learns about the power of self-control and the importance of moderation. Lap Tickets are available for purchase for children 12 months and under. Tickets are $16.
Aventura Arts & Cultural Center has implemented a number of changes to ensure an enjoyable experience. Health and safety guidelines have been developed in conjunction with its management company, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, and in collaboration with Cleveland Clinic and have been informed by guidance of public health officials including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
