Jaime Sturgis, CEO of Fort Lauderdale- based real estate firm Native Realty, represented entrepreneur and #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling author Patrick Bet-David on his purchase of commercial buildings in Oakland Park and Fort Lauderdale for a combined $8.6 million. Bet-David is the founder and CEO of several businesses. His media company, Valuetainment, relocated to South Florida in early 2021.
Valuetainment is expected to base its new headquarters at the 5100 N. Dixie Hwy. building in Oakland Park. Bet-David closed on the $4.4 million acquisition on Dec. 15.
Prominent interior design firm IDDI (ID & Design International) sold the 12,510-square-foot building to Bet-David. The 1.65-acre property includes a Chase drive-through location with four lanes.
“Bet-David had a unique vision for his headquarters because of all the creative content he is producing,” Sturgis said. “The goal was to find a state-of-the-art space with a podcast studio and production flexibility that was both talent and tech friendly. After an extensive search, it was clear that 5100 N. Dixie checked all the boxes. The pandemic created a strong demand for well-located, freestanding office buildings, as many companies left traditional high-rise towers in favor of such buildings.”
In Fort Lauderdale, Bet-David closed on the $4.2 million purchase of a freestanding commercial building on Dec. 6. The 11,376-square-foot building is a few blocks away from Fort Lauderdale’s Bay Colony neighborhood, where Bet-David purchased a waterfront mansion earlier this year. The commercial building was previously occupied by a medical retailer, and Bet-David is exploring options to upgrade or adaptively repurpose the former office space to accommodate his growing media empire.
Bet-David’s family immigrated to the U.S. from Iran when he was 11 years old. He went on to serve in the U.S. military before starting a financial services career. That experience led to Bet-David launching PHP Agency at age 30 and building it into one of the fastest-growing companies in the financial marketplace. In 2013, Bet-David created Valuetainment, which has become an emerging media network with over 10 channels, a twice-weekly podcast, live events, dozens of content partners, and most recently, an independent docuseries titled Mafia States of America.
His latest book, Your Next Five Moves (Simon & Schuster) debuted at #1 on the Wall Street Journal bestseller list and has been translated into more than twenty languages. He is married and has four kids and two Shih Tzus.
