The building at 328-332 S. Highland Ave. in the Highlandtown neighborhood of Baltimore City recently sold in early January for $850,000. The approximately 15,000 sq. ft. building was the longtime home of Baltimore Trophy House and currently serves as an United States Postal Service office and mail center.
Rene and Shirley Bennett opened The Baltimore Trophy House in this building, which is located at the corner of Gough St. and S. Highland Ave., in 1979. Their sons Todd and Brooks Bennett took over the business in 2008 and continue to run the trophy fabrication shop and main sales offices. They will be moving the business to Harford County.
The post office has been a tenant of the building since the 1970s and will continue to stay as a tenant with TD Properties III. In addition to the post office, the building features six apartments on the upper floors.
The new owners will renovate the former Baltimore Trophy House space and lease it to a law firm. The law firm plans to move into the building around April 2022.A marketing company will also be added to the tenant mix in the building.
Jim Chivers of Gold and Company, a local commercial real estate company, assisted in the sales transaction. He is also handling the leasing for TD Properties III.
“The Patterson Park and Highlandtown area is an integral part of Baltimore City,” said Chivers. “With the new businesses coming in, we are excited the Baltimore Trophy House building will be renovated and the post office will continue to serve the local community.”
